As I sit today, its the beginning of March and that means weather permitting we are 4-5 weeks away from most cars getting on the road, weather and pothole permitting. It is great to see that a few of our members are away travelling and have posted car related pictures from better climates.
By now everyone has received their January Panorama magazine and if you look inside you will find a 75th anniversary window decal. 2025 is PCA 75th anniversary, keep an eye out for interesting event, content from PCA as the year develops. The actual date of the anniversary is September 13, 1955, all PCA regions are being asked to host an event on September 13 and post content to social media. We are working on a fun event for that date.
Today there are more than 700 Porsche clubs worldwide with 235K+ members. Did you know PCA is the Largest car club in the world across all brands? We are also the largest Porsche Club in the world with over 160K+ members and growing. We are also the only Porsche Club that runs entirely independent of the Porsche AG Corporation. In PCA there are 148 Regions in US & Canada.
PCA is organized into 14 geographic zones. Our Region Red River is in Zone 10, which is shared with the Central Iowa, Dakota, Great Plains, Kansas City, Nord Stern, Ozark Lakes, Schonesland, St Louis and Wichita regions. Our region represents 3.4% of the PCA with a total of 4039 members. Check out the Zone 10 website https://zone10.pca.org/ to learn more about history and activities in our area.
As Red River president I once again had the opportunity to visit Des Moines Iowa for our annual Zone 10 meeting with other presidents. These gatherings are instrumental to learn and share ideas with others. Lots of great ideas to bring back to our planning for this year and future. It was great to see that regardless of politics and geography we share the common ideals of PCA, have fun, enjoy our cars and meet new people.
