Pistons & Props Car Show

A group of 10 cars with 19 members gathered early Saturday, August 3rd to drive to Portage la Prairie and lined up at a designated muster point with many other cars to be lead to the Pistons & Props Car Show at the Manitoba Airshow, celebrating 100 years of the RCAF. We went into the show as a group which ensured that we were placed together. Everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy the day – there was a ground display of aircraft in the morning, as well as the car show to view and then the Airshow began close to lunch time. The Airshow was very captivating and included many acrobatic acts, as well as one of two airworthy Avro Lancasters which was the most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber from WWII. In addition, there was a demonstration by the Canadian Forces Skyhawks Parachute Team, the CF -188 Hornet and then the final act by the Canadian Snowbirds. The airshow certainly held everyone’s attention!
